Blackstage lookbook – Sun was high

Blackstage is a project I’ve been working on for the past year and it’s finally here! I created this online store along with a friend with the purpose of offering unique, bohemian and fun pieces for those gypsy souls that love to travel, listen to music and just wear breezy and fun clothing. For the first collection, ‘Sun was high’ we captured the island life in two scenarios that define this life style: the beach and the desert. The collections are small but full of pieces that you can rock from day to night. Click here and shop away: www.shopblackstage.com

Santurce is the mecca for up and coming artist in Puerto Rico. This up and coming sector of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, has been occupied by young artist with the goal of making the city come alive. Old abandoned buildings and lots are being taken over and turning them into galleries, beautiful murals, stores and more. The arts and music festival Santurce es Ley  is no exception to this community effort. This year SEL celebrated it’s 5th edition with amazing murals, installations and music by local and international artist. Here is a picture summary of 3 days of non stop art, music and a community rising.

DES MORTS VIVANTS

This past Halloween was different but a lot of fun. Instead of going to a party, we decided to do something different; ride our bikes with skull faces like the ghost riders from Paris. Project « Ghostrider » was born from the desire of two fixed gear passionates who decided to film their night strolling in the french capital city.Jérémy and Anto, aka // Les Darons //, (the first one is a film director, the other one a photographer) captured the adrenalin spirit of their passion for riding their fixies on this video. What makes it so great is the use of the song Viol by Gesaffelstein, sufficiently dark and upbeat to keep up withe the mood of this ride.

Fond of images and fixies, catch the adrenalin spirit of the discipline inside their cameras. The first opus, « Ghostrider » is soon massively shared. A year later, it’s time for « Ghostrider II », with only one leitmotiv : the search for danger that brings out the filthiest instincts.

CANVAS IN THE CATWALK

MUZA DESIGN  Fashion Show video by: Erase una vez, Inc.

On July 20, 2012 Polet Guzmán and Charlene Ruscalleda presented their latest collection at Atmosfera, they had the perfect mix of a great location in San Juan, great music by the best DJ’s in the island plus, of course, a very fun collection of “artwear”.

The Wanderers in Puerto Rico

There’s an old saying here that goes “no es fácil la vida en el trópico” (life in the tropics is not easy) and it really isn’t. But once you take a look at all the beautiful sightings that we are surrounded by in Puerto Rico, you realize it’s worth it. Here’s the behind the scenes of another amazing shoot from Vogue Australia’s January 2012 issue with model Valentina Zeliaeva. Can’t wait to see the pictures from the actual magazine!

FOODIE FILES: TORO SALAO

One of my favorite things to do is go out to dinner. I’m pretty much a foodie and I’m always open to trying out new restaurants and different kinds of food. Actually one of my dream jobs is working as a food critic for a gastronomy magazine. So from now on I will be posting about my latest adventures with food, most of them local. Here’s my first one about Toro Salao, hope you enjoy it!

Toro Salao is located in Tetuan st. in Old San Juan. The concept is an homage to our Spanish heritage with its creative tapas. I love the decor, it has a wallpaper with pictures and newspaper articles about Spanish bullfighters. The drinks are pretty good, this time I had a traditional mojito and my boyfriend had a Margarita Brava (it was pretty spicy!). Most of the time they are playing flamenco music which is a plus. The menu includes croquettes, cocas, cold cuts and bigger portions of fish or meat. This time I guess it was our lucky day, because until October they have a special of a 4 course meal for $30 per person! So we went for it, and it was so delicious!

SOME MAGAZINE ISSUE #2: GOOD THINGS COME IN PAIRS

https://allthefashionsastage.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/someissue02outnowsmall.jpg?w=300

SOME is an independently-published international magazine based in Puerto Rico.  The magazine is published quarterly in digital format.  They are devoted to fashion, art and design.  I love their editorials mostly because they are different and are alway open to collaborate with independent industry insiders. Hope you enjoy it! Click here to see their latest issue.
