Birthday gal!

So today I turned 24, yikes its shocking how fast time passes! My celebration is not over yet I plan on celebrating all through the weekend. Today was fun though it was filled with family, surprises and my favorite homemade red velvet cake, yum!! I will be posting pictures of my weekend soon!

Have a great night!

One of my favorite things to do is go out to dinner. I’m pretty much a foodie and I’m always open to trying out new restaurants and different kinds of food. Actually one of my dream jobs is working as a food critic for a gastronomy magazine. So from now on I will be posting about my latest adventures with food, most of them local. Here’s my first one about Toro Salao, hope you enjoy it!

Toro Salao is located in Tetuan st. in Old San Juan. The concept is an homage to our Spanish heritage with its creative tapas. I love the decor, it has a wallpaper with pictures and newspaper articles about Spanish bullfighters. The drinks are pretty good, this time I had a traditional mojito and my boyfriend had a Margarita Brava (it was pretty spicy!). Most of the time they are playing flamenco music which is a plus. The menu includes croquettes, cocas, cold cuts and bigger portions of fish or meat. This time I guess it was our lucky day, because until October they have a special of a 4 course meal for $30 per person! So we went for it, and it was so delicious!

So my week started pretty good! It’s actually weird because Mondays are usually hell for me, I’m always sleepy and cranky I guess it has something to do with the fact that my allergies are gone, at least for now ( fingers crossed). Music- wise my week started with an 80’s music playlist on Pandora and of course my favorite song from Robert Palmer came up on my playlist. So, here’s a cover of Addicted to love by Florence + Machine.I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do. Have a great week!

I usually don’t follow trend religiously, but when I find something I like I’m all for it. One of my favorite trends for spring/summer is definitely color blocking. It takes me back to the 60’s mod era when twiggy whore many dresses that had some very bold color blocking. One of the many designers that used this was Bcbg Max Azria . For me it’s important to have pieces that can be worn all year round and color blocking does the trick.

Stripes, lace, see-thru, flowers…can a girl ask for more? Really loving Charlotte Ronson’s S/S ’12 collection. I love that it’s very 70’s inspired but its also influenced by the 90’s. It’s just perfect; effortless and flowy. The lace pieces are amazing and the Missoni inspired print dress is so beautiful. And can we talk about the shoes?!!  I want it all!

I guess I’ve had this fever now for many years and no I won’t ever get bored or tired of posting about my lovely polka dots.To me polka dots  have the ability to transition from season to season without any trouble. They should be a basic stapple on any gals wardrobe. I love them in all kinds of combination from the classic black and white to the more daring reds and pink combinations. Looks like  the dotties are here to stay, yay!
